Land Investments

These are some of the riskiest investments for real estate.  Land generally always appreciates over time.  The question is how much time will it take for the land to appreciate enough to reach my goal.  That is hard to judge.  Buying land has a very large upside but it has a similarly large downside.  Generally, land bought for a long term investment is a safe investment.  However, will it grow faster than inflation over the long term is difficult to predict.  City, County, and State governments have the potential to influence land values either way.  It is therefore very prudent for us to review long term planning as well as short term planning by those agencies when evaluating land acquisition.
